Car Show Season in Northern Kentucky

Being a true Floridian (actually 3rd generation) one of the most awesome things that I love about my move to Kentucky is the season changes(yes I even love winter).  However, my favorite season I must admit is spring and car show.  In this area,  as I am sure is the case for most at least 1/2 of the U.S., Car Show Season ...is a season as well.  After a long winter, this Floridian is ready for some sunshine!  We have had a few cruise-ins the first weekend of May but this last weekend was our first car show in our area.
     So, we attended two!!
My husband and I went to the car show at Burlington Baptist Church in Burlington KY with the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro.  It was a nice show with plenty of entertainment for kids and adults.  They even had a karaoke machine and this young gal (age 12) absolutely did an amazing job with the national anthem and several other songs during the event.  My husband is an seasoned "pro" at car shows.  He has been competing off and on for over 20 years.  So he does an awesome job at making sure everything is clean, shiny, and displayed pretty well.

These area few tips I have learned from him in the last few years.
  • Open your hood
  • Open your trunk
  • take time to clean your vehicle (yes...even the tires)..we pack a box with cleaning supplies
  • cross your seat belts
  • straighten your steering wheel
  • if you have original documentation.. display it (either on a display board or in a binder)
  • Detail info about your vehicle (on a display board) along with interesting info or modifications
  • Personally, we go prepared. We take chairs, canopy, cooler, sun screen, etc.
Darren, who does an amazing job of detailing Insignia Auto vehicles, attended "Rollin' on the River" in Ludlow, KY. He took his kids and had a blast checking out all the cool cars.
